A Change of F.A.C.E. organization focuses on reducing and preventing bullying through educating and bringing awareness to the prevalent issue of digital and verbal abuse. This non-profit organization aims to reinvent the understanding of true beauty and advocates for the support of individuality. As a 501(c)3 organization, all funds raised go towards the in-school, home and public education of the genetic influences of facial features. Through peer mentoring, educational seminars, ambassador public service announcements and social media campaigns a Change of F.A.C.E. Organization plans for the removal of stereotypical assumptions of society’s autonomic acceptance of aesthetic beauty.

Dr. Richard Zoumalan is a double board certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon with a private practice in Beverly Hills, CA. Although he is recognized for his surgical accomplishments and research publications, the foundation of his work lies in his philanthropic passions.

As an artist, Dr. Zoumalan appreciates the contours of the face and the anatomical features that differentiate one from another. Distinguishing features are what Dr. Zoumalan continually studies from one patient to another; he believes in the value of individual beauty.

Dr. Zoumalan applies this belief to his practice and urges each patient to aspire for the most natural results. Often, this aspiration can be conflicting when he hears the stories of his patients and the long journey that led them to his office. Often, the reasons for their consultation come from peers rejection, torment, and years of developed insecurities. As a plastic surgeon, he aims to help people achieve their goals; as a humanitarian, he strives to educate the acceptance of individuality.

Although physical appearance can commonly be the cause of such bullying, it can be verbal, emotional and commonly cyber-based. The National Center for Educational Statistics reported that “One out of every four students report being bullied during the school year (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2015).”

The effects of bullying can be far more complex than appearance-related and the long-term impact from any type of bullying can threaten every asset of one’s life and change the path of their future. By educating the community, Dr. Zoumalan hopes to reverse the insouciant nature and prevalence of this type of bullying and set a new precedent for what even a surgeon can appreciate as truly beautiful.

Testimonials

  • I was injured on January 7, 2012 in a mo-ped/scooter accident in Cozumel, Mexico. My entire body head to toe (literally) endured horrendous road rash, my nose broke & plenty more. The level of care I received from dr Zoumalan & his entire office was/is truly indescribable but I shall try!

  • It’s been a year since my septoplasty and rhinoplasty and I am extremely happy with my results. Not only has my breathing dramatically improved, I am sleeping better than ever. I feel healthier and it has significantly changed my exercise routine. I can definitely push myself harder and my workouts are longer and more efficient. Best part is I don’t get that winded feeling or stuffy or runny nose while running. I didn’t realize how many aspects of my life would change after the surgery.

  • So when I met with Richard Zoumalan, I gave him a picture of me when I was 42, and I said, “That’s what I want. Is that possible?” And he said, “Yes!” He explained what he’d do, and how he would do it. I had surgery less than a month ago, and amazingly, I look almost exactly like me, only about 25 years younger.
